About me

     I am a soprano and have been a university level instructor of voice since 1987. I recently vacated a tenured position as Assistant Professor of Music, at Tarrant County College, South Campus, where I worked extensively to build the vocal program and directed numerous workshops designed for singers.  I am currently serving as Adjunct Instructor of Voice at Tarrant County College, Northwest Campus, but also maintain a private voice studio at my home in Fort Worth, Texas.  
    
     I received my Bachelor of Music from the University of Texas at Arlington, a Masters of Music from Louisiana State University, and finished 15 hours toward a Doctoral Degree at West Virginia University.  In addition, I studied voice at the Royal Danish Conservatory of Music in Copenhagen, Denmark.  I have held roles in both opera and musical theatre, and have presented a variety of recitals in the United States and Europe. 

     Roles in opera and musical theater include: Hanna,The Merry Widow; Countess, Le Nozze di Figaro; Papagena, Die Zauberflöte; Lucy, The Telephone; Johanna, Sweeney Todd; and Matahari, in the World Premiere performance of the opera Matahari with the Deep Ellum Opera Company. 

     I have been featured as a soloist in numerous concert works including Handel’s Messiah and Dixit Dominus, Schubert’s Mass in G, Vaughn-Williams’ Serenade to Music, Vivaldi’s Gloria and Magnificat, Bruckner’s Te Deum, Saint-Saëns’ Christmas Oratorio, and have appeared as a guest soloist with the Schola Cantorum of Texas at Bass Performance Hall in Fort Worth.
